« Melior mutata resurgo »
1962, a 15 cubic metre wooden crate has just landed in Port Saint Louis du Rhône. Gilbert Mourre, 35 years old, works on the opening. The heavy door opens, revealing the much hoped-for contents: a refrigerator, a pump, various objects related to wine-making and, enthroned in the middle, solidly secured, an orange caterpillar tractor.
“Many years later, as I contemplated this beautiful object, I realized that there was a treasure in the box, whose name is “Melior mutata resurgo”. Our dovecote was born and had grown against all odds.
The bottle of cuvée G placed in front of me is much more than something to be consumed – it is a rebirth, an embrace of knowledge.
